Phil Hartman
Nov 24, 1948 - May 28, 1998
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Hello, my name is Andrea Miller and I was one of the makeup artists on SNL during the time that Phil Hartman was onboard. I remained his friend until he died and still miss him dearly. I wanted to drop you a quick line to tell you how much I like your NewsRadio fan fiction site and the stories found there. I also need to ask you a question if I may about one story in particular. Did the person who wrote the story Rage in Eden know Phil? I am asking this because of the uncanny accuracy of some of the things in the story. For instance, Jan (Hooks) did have breast cancer, and Phil was her supporter. Also, his son Sean did fall off his bike while not wearing his helmet and was unconscious for a few days. When he awoke he claimed to have been with his father! I know this because Phil’s brother related the story to me. If I remember right, in the story in question Phil’s ghost meets up with Sean and visits his home to ‘argue’ with his sister-in-law about the lack of a helmet. I found this astonishing!

There’s more. Dave Foley did hide a picture of another woman behind the picture of his wife, and Andy Dick did almost overdose and did claim to have seen Phil while also unconscious. There are too many coincidences. Phil and Jan were as close as the story implies and I will always believe she was the reason that Brynn murdered him. She believed it too and suffers greatly from the burden of blame she puts on herself. She claims that he comes to her still in her dreams and I believe it. They were a beautiful couple who were meant to be together.
